Meet Michael Zaitlin
Founder/Owner
A native Mainer with 50+ years of experience in the metal recycling industry, Michael has vast knowledge of metal recycling solutions and is well connected in the scrap metal community. Michael grew up working at Saco Steel, the family scrap yard that was started by his grandfather in Saco, Maine. There, he forged the foundation of his experience in the industry.
Michael then brought his talents to work for other metal recycling businesses in the Portland area, and the state of Maine.
In 2017 Michael set off on his own and founded Zaitlin Enteprises with the goal of bringing back the family tradition of no-nonsense scrap metal services to the businesses and tradesmen of his home state.
Meet Sam Levinsky
Operations Manager
Sam joined his cousin Michael at Zaitlin Enterprises in 2023 to bring greater efficiency and depth to the operations of the business — all in an effort to stay agile and adaptive to serve the needs of our customers and partners. He is excited to be joining a business that has been in his family for generations.
Sam has an engineering degree from the University of Maine and has spent 15+ years working in the construction and marine industrial sector.
